Sir,
Fit 1.5. For
2015
1
With reference to the Foreign Office memorandum
of the 13th instant, No. 247574/45/h, I am directed by the Secretary of State for India to transmit for information a
ith December, copy of a telegram which he has sent to the Government of
India on the subject of closer co-ordination of Intelligence
in the Far East.
A copy is being sent also to the Foreign Office, the Director of Military Intelligence, and the Director,
Intelligence Division.
Mr. Chamberlain presumes that under the revised arrangements the Government of India can count upon being at once advised by the Governor of Hongkong of any action taken
in that Colony with regard to Indians despatched under
arrest. The Government of India reported that they were
left without official information of the despatch to Rangoon
from Hongkong in February of the Indians taken off the "Tenyo
Maru". This point is bein discussed with the Admiralty.
I have the honour to be, Sir,
Your obedient Servant,
3
The Under Secretary of State,
COLONIAL OFFICE.
